Question Medicals - Question

Hi guys - just been reading a couple of threads about what the medical entails and read that they check your abdomen. Now I have just been told I have a large incisional hernia - due to my second caesarean section not healing internally. I had my baby a year ago and didn't know I had a hernia! Anyway I will need corrective surgery but have put this off for a while as after the op I cannot lift anything for 6 weeks and I have a baby who isn't even walking yet so that will be impossible. Does anyone know if this will affect my meds at all? I am slightly concerned about this now.

Thanks all.
Em x

Hiya

You would have to divulge it anyway on your form and show your medical records in relation to it. Sorry, i dont know where you would stand if it would be an issue or not.

I too have had 2 c'sections and had complications as a result. I too am worried.

Best not to hide anything,

Good luck

Bex

Thanks - I will definitely declare it, just worried that it may be an issue. Suppose will just have to wait and see when the time comes and just keep my fingers crossed in the meantime!

Definitely declare it and take with you any reports or paperwork that you have regarding the condition. If you show you are aware that you have a hernia and that you will have corrective surgery then I don't see why it should be a problem!

Thanks Felicity - puts my mind at rest a bit. Have all the paperwork and CT scan results at home so all to hand when I am called for the meds!

Em, got a letter from your GP or any specialist you may have seen to say what's wrong, what needs to be done and the prognosis. I always have blood in my urine when they do the test - I took letters from my urologist saying it's unexplained, it doesn't cause any problems and we don't need to do anything. Also took a letter for my son who had undergone some renal investigations. - we didn't get asked for any more information and passed the medicals no problems.
