Manchester Expo

Went along to expo today and have to say I was a bit disappointed. Any info they gave us I had already found out from PIO. Never mind, at least I got to do a bit of retail therapy afterwards. Hope others found it useful. Think i'll just stick to this forum for any info.

Hi, we went to the expo in Manchester too and found out nothing we didnt already know. Disappointed too!

Hi, we went today also,thought it was ok,but as you say,you can find out everything you need from PIO,still,it was a day out.

Me and my oh went to Manchester today. We made an app to see a migration expert £40. Really didn't find out any more info than the peeps on this forum have helped us with. We didn't sign anything and think we will apply for vetassess in Feb next year.

I'm glad I didn't go now!

£15 per person = £45 wasted!!! plus travel parking and all the other stuff they don't tell you about.

I thought it would have been a good expo too as it was employment orientated - more rip off agents

To all that went to expo Saturday. We got there about 10.15 and my god it was busy. We were the family who took our eldest with us. He was walking around with blue baseball cap on. So if you were there then I''l say Hi and nice to have met you!!! Ha

Hi everyone,
We went today and I have to say we were meant to go. We went to the same one last year in London and found it disappointing, but then we hadn't received our visas. But now we have, today was a different story. Oh has a job interview on Tuesday, a contact with another company in Perth and we hope we have finally found a trustworthy company to advuse us on our pensions.

We weren't going to bother as our girls are not that interested and yes it is costly, but it may be that it was meant!?

I have to agree with you all though - almost all of the research and help we have got has been from our friends on PIO. I don't know what I would do without PIO-even though it is addictive LOL - the support is amazing and I know where to come if feeling negative and unsure.

Well done and good luck, but can I ask who you spoke to to get an interview. I have to admit that everyone we spoke to asked how far we were with application, which is right at the beginning. So maybe if we had visa it would of been a different story.

Hi Debs. We went straight to the FUJITSU stand and they spoke to my OH. I think that the fact we now have our visas and the house is sold helped, as well as the fact that OH has experience in IT. Whether any thing will come of it, who knows?

Last year, we hadn't received our visas and most exhibitors did say to contact them when we had received them. I have to say thay even on the job recruitment websites, more contacts are getting in touch now we have them - the only thing is we are not there and most employers want you NOW!!!!
