Secondly if he then applied for a partner visa as required, would we have to pay the $6800 for both applications? Any feedback would be much appreciated. Guest Posted September 30, 2016 Share Posted September 30, 2016 The PMV is an off shore visa and irrc the wait time is clocking up from 10-14 months from lodging to grant. I don't quite understand the second question, do you mean as in paying for both parts/stages to the partner visa? The temp stage and then the PR later on? You pay the one application fee for the partner visa when you lodge. The second stage follows and there is no other fee. You've already paid for the visa, this is just going to the second stage. If you look at the fee schedule on the DIBP website (http://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Visa/Fees - under "Live" and then "Partner Migration") you can scroll down to the Applicant in Australia section where it shows that the fee for an 820 visa by a PMV holder is only $1,145.
