Points - how many is enough?

Guys

I did a search, honest, before you beat me up for not looking at the other threads.

I reckon I can get 120 points as long as my Skills Assessment confirms that my skill is on the MODL list. Is there anything to be gained by getting more, for example by getting the top IELTS score for another ten points or by getting Mrs Imp's Skills assessed for the extra five points?

Cheers

Imp

If you are going to be sick dont do it on here, I dont do sick thats hubbies job.

Its all very nerve racking and exciting at the start so use your enthusiasm to do your assessment and once you have started it dont put it down til you have finished it......not like us....if we hadnt taken so long to do it, stop, start, stop, start..... I think we could have been there by now

OK, grumpy now, looks like Eng Australia will recognise my skills, but not in a MODL category, so

Skill - 60 points
Age - 20 points
English - 15 points
Work Experience - 10 points
Total = 105 points meaning that I will have to sit a bloody english test and spend a fortune getting Mrs Imp's qualifications recognised to get 120 points for my 175 visa....!!!!!

Bugger bugger bugger, at least it is nearly the weekend!

do you want the 175 visa or have you explored other options i'm sure some of the other visas need less than 100 points or have things changed?

Yep, as I just posted on my blog (how cool are blogs?), I am looking at other visas, but if I can get the 175 that would be ace. Think I will aim there first, and then look for something different if it does not work out!

Makes you believe how long the timescales can be for applications though!

heieup is on a distinguished road
Eng Australia might recognise your qualifications on MODL but you may have to go down the Competency demonstration report line rather than the washington accord route if that helps.

Might be worth going that route instead of trying to get the other points anyway as if you're on the MODL your visa will be priority processed.
