      Choosing an Agent?

      Hi

Can anyone recommend a good agent to use who will get my visa sorted sooner rather than later or are they all as bad as each other? I've read some right stories about em and am starting to feel a bit worried and I haven't even started the process yet!!

      Thanks, Jo :)

      Hi
we have just started the process and after weeks of mulling over different agents we chose the visa bureau.
there paperwork is spot on they are very resonable and very professional.
we spoke to t least 6 agents and settled on this one.
nother reason was the recommendations that came from this site.
I think their website is Visa Bureau: NZ, Canadian, American, Australian visa service or something like that.
Anyway let us know who you choose.it is a daunting process picking the right one but out of them all i think visa bureau has been the most thourough.however i can only speak for myself

      That's great that thanks Kate..

I have completed some preliminary assessments online and have 125 points which is good news! Although my fiance is living in Perth, it seems that he can't sponsor me because he is not blood related. We are hoping to get married in the UK next year and I am trying to persuade him to come home for 6 months until it's sorted then we can go out together. He's having a right ole time of it out there and is very home sick :(

      Hi Kate,

I have just visited the Visa Bureau you recommended and out of all of the preliminary assessments I have taken this one was more thorough plus their telephone consultation is free of charge whereas the other one I was going to go with wanted £147.30 before they would give me any information so thanks for that.. I'll let you know how I get on once I have spoken to them..

Perhaps we could follow each other's progress because you do need support with this long and drawn out process!!!!

      Regards,

      Jo x

Hi Jo, we have also used an agent called Go Matilda, plus quite a few other people on here, they have been great so far, very helpful and respond very quickly to e-mails and phone calls. They also give a free chat over the telephone for the first time.

They have offices in the UK and OZ, PM me if you want their number.

      Good luck

      Hi Guys

Thanks for the advice. I think I will have to go out there on an independant skills visa. My fiance went out in July to check it out. I visited & decided I want to move out there with him rather than residing in the UK. We can't use the de facto (fiance) visa because in the UK we lived in separate towns (ie separate houses so can't prove we are in a genuine relationship because his name is not on my bills etc) I don't think I could cope doing it myself as I have a 10 yr old, work full time, a dog, wedding to plan etc. and I think it will be a headache in itself by the sounds of what I have read on here. Someone recommended the Visa Bureau but I will have a look at Go Matilda as well

      Cheers Jo :)

      Hi Jo

DO be VERY WARY of the idea of a long stay tourist visa if your intention is to make an application for a skilled independent visa.

What I know about skilled visas requires less space than would be found on the back of a stamp. However, my impression is that the work-experience involved must be both recnt and relevant and it must be for a continuous period of x years immmediately preceding the application as far as I can gather.

I would be wary of risking disturbing the continuity here.....

      Cheers

      Gill

      Gill,

I didn't think of that one thanks.. however by the time the long stay tourist visa is up Mark & I will be married and someone in Perth last month told us that once you're married (and as he has a visa) it would just be a formality changing the visa over.

      Thanks Jo x

      Hi
i think it would be good to help each other along I am stressed out and we havnt even done the hard bit yet.
my nerves are shot mainly because my huby has to do this new vetassass route rather than the old TRA.
he has to have a interview and practical asessment to see if if he is up to Auzzie standard.
god its so hrd knowing its all down to him.
Anyway are agent is called Paul Zun from the Visa Bureau and I can highly recommend him.
      speak soon
      kate
