Just submitted my application for a 136 visa a couple of weeks ago - cost is $2,060 - I just entered my visa details on the application form - but based on current exchanged rate cost equates to around £900 in real money!!!!
Medical, police checks and document certification are other costs that come into it I know about so far - but I also applied through a migration agent which is pricey but I wanted the help and security as I work freelance so there were some quirks when coming to fill out all the forms!

Full ack and file number 01/02/08 - Police Checks requested 05/02/08
Medicals Done 07/03/08 - Sent to LCU Sydney 19/03/08
Police Checks back and sent to Adelaide 17/03/08
Case Officer appointed 14/04/08 - And Visa Granted 14/04/08!!!
