I arrive in Australia on a 12 month visitor visa on 01/01/16 and my Contributory Parent Visa is granted on 01/06/16(whilst I am still in Australia and have been since 01/01/16). As I need to be 2 years "Settled" in Australia to be able to sponsor someone, would my length of "Settlement" be taken from 01/01/16 or from the date my permanent visa was granted, 01/06/16 ?
