Bev50Bradley
Hi Anyone any idea how long the Contributory Parent Visa is taking to be granted? Also when granted, do they give you a date to emigrate from, or is it with immediate effect? Many thanks for any advise. Regards Bev
VERYSTORMY
I believe it is taking about 14 months. You will have 12 months from the date of medicals or police checks - which ever is earlier - to make an initial entry to Australia. You then have 5 years from grant of visa. Freesia
It's a lot longer than 14months - anywhere between 18-24 unfortunately. The time is stretching out as more people have applied. There is a dedicated Parent thread at the top of the forum where you can follow the progress of others waiting.

Someone has confirmed today they have received their grant which has taken 22 months. Joe

Ravenswood
We are on a BV and queued for Aged Parent Visa (804) and want to transfer to a Contributory Visa (143). How do we do that? Do we have to start over again, or is they some credit (forms filled, medicals taken) if we are already queued.
