Frontloading meds - does this sound reasonable??

Hiya

I was reading through the posts trying to get a definitive on frontloading and I wondered what people thought...

We are just waiting on a couple of bits coming through so we can send the visa application and the meds are already done and dusted but sat in the docs office gathering dust until I give the go ahead to send.

All things being equal the visa app should go off in the next two weeks (meds done beginning July) so am I losing out by the meds sitting in the docs at the mo or should I get them shot off to Sydney even tho the visa app isnt in just yet????

Dont know if this is the definition of front loading or if I would be jumping the gun or if they may get 'lost' by sending them no before the visa app has arrived.

Cheers guys

Never come across anyone having done there meds before even applying! Sorry can't help, think you'd be mad to send them yet!!

We sent in our application, got an acknowledgement in August and then had meds in Sept...I think if you send them before getting an acknowledgement they may not be able to tie them in together...We gave our doctor a file ref number...I would wait, in case they get lost in the scrum

Hi,

I would send them with/after your application if you've already had them done, so at least they're with your application. If they receive them now they may get lost as (like Jo said)there is no reference number etc., to link them too.

Just to point out that when you do get your visa it will be dated from the date of your medicals and not the date of your application or when it was acknowledged. By having them done last month, you may not give yourself an awful lot of time to validate your visa, i.e. you'll have to validate by July 2008. Our application (136) took 7 months from start to finish (although we didn't front load meds). Front loading may save you weeks rather than months on the whole process.

Hi thanks for the reply guys, only reason they are done already is its a labor agreeement visa. But I think you are right and I will take your advice and sit on them until I have a ref number. Hoping the validation wont be an issue as we were hoping to be out in Nov this year but with the back log I'm beginning to wonder

not heard of a labour agreement visa - is that like sponsorship? is it a temp visa? Is the process quicker for this visa?

Its a visa LA sub class 120 its the forces one for transfering over. Hope that helps. I got told that if you get put forward for the labour agreement by the ADF then it was pretty much a cert you would go through so we got the meds done shortly after they put the labour agreement application in. Just waiting on that coming back then the visa app goes in. Seems like everyone else its all hurry up and wait . Its a PR visa and I dont know if its any quicker, the impression I was given was that the ADF put down a date your gonna start and then the immi guys produce the visa to meet it - don't know if thats true or just more forces flannel.

Hi there,
we too are going through the ADF process but there are a couple small medical things they just want further clarification on before we get the Labour agreement. We arent going out til next June though so we are okay for time but nether the less it is sill frustrating waiting for Hospital appointments ect so we are still in Limbo as to wether we are going.
if you want to get in touch please do so - dont know anyone else going this route

Fronloading meds!

Hi,

I lodged my application online on July 31 2007 and on 1 August I recieved an e-mail from the Adelaide Skilled Processing Centre requesting further documentation to be sent within two weeks, including police clearance checks and medicals! I'm applying for police checks tomorrow and my medical appointment is on Tuesday next week. I'm applying for a 136 MODL though, could that be why there seems to be such a rush?
