Hi Guys,
I was wondering if anyone has recently been for interviews in London to transfer to the Australian Defence Forces........My OH (and me!) are due to go next Thursday 2nd and I'd like to know what questions we will be asked, peoples views etc.
Any help would be really appreciated.

We had our interview in October and it has been all go since!!!! We leave in just under 3 months.
PM me and we can explain all the questions etc etc. And if you're on msn - we can chat. OH is now on resettlement/terminal and loving it. Will have to shave again sometime in the next 2 months though! Which service are you with? Not that it matters though, all services are on this forum and going down. Friends have interview tomorrow at AH so will let you know about current interviewers.
kermy, me and OH had this interview in london in may, not really interview , very layed back, just went into diffo rooms for diffo subjects, education, schools and entitlements ect for kids, wages and job discription, OH saw doc and went through med docs, had to see a shrink, welfare officers, housing, also think OH had a questionaire to fill out about his work, got his job offer at the end of the day, OH signed his there and then. the day lasted from about 10-4ish. nothing to worry about, it was a good day. think there might of been a few more things but cant remember. everything is given to you on disc aswell, incase like me you forget it all! best of luk, kaz, we go june 2008. cant wait.
kermy, just read my reply back, i dint have to see shrink just OH,and really it was just asking questions and asking why we wanted to go oz ect, nothing drastic, He read through OH questionaire answers i think. kaz

We have got our police checks underway as we were told these can take some time and if we get the thumbs up we want to make the process as quick as possible. Do you know if most people are successful or do they reject alot on the day?
kermy...as i understand it..if you get the interview- aslong as meds r ok u are pretty much in, be careful putting in police checks to early..my mistake! they work alongside yr visa, the dates from the police check will be a year till u have to land in oz, ours came back too early so had to resend them. they took the 40 days to come back as stated in paperwork, our german ones took about a week! i have heard of someone getting rejected on the day, didnt happen on our interview day and there were about 8 couples. enyoy the day, its more them telling you information than asking you anything really.let uus know how it goes. i think thistles and gum trees are further down the process than us so they could be heplfull aswel, theres loads going ADF on here and all very helpful. kaz
As long as your not Walter Mitty and turn up wearing a shoulder holster you should be alright. A lad on my interview day got binned as he had not declared a knee problem. It's an enjoyable day for all and very informative. The day is designed to ensure you walk away knowing as much information as possible to enable you to make an informed decision.
