Agency fees?

Yeah that was for the full visa application. I've just had a look at breakdown of costs and for the Skills assessment application (electrician) it was £950. Not sure if that varies with different trades. What sort of quotes have you been getting?

 

What subclass visa is that for? Surely you have to pay DIBP the VAC charge, too?

It's the 189 visa. That fee was for the agent to help with the skills assessment. What's the VAC charge?

 

VAC is the visa application charge.

 

For family of 4 on a 189 visa:

 

Main applicant: $3520

Additional applicant (i.e. your partner): $1760

2 children: 2 x $880 == $1760

 

TOTAL: $7040 (approx £3900 at current exchange rate)
