Hi All,

Couldn't find one for October, although I am a newbie to the forum.

189 Visa application lodged 01/10/2014 front uploaded all documents including police checks. Medicals 11/10/14 now just the waiting game, hoping to make the move 2015!

I have read on a few forums about the form 80, I have completed it but not uploaded it. Has anyone else done this?

Thanks!

Hi all,

I have just lodged tonight!! yay!! Finally, it has taken us a while, as waiting for docs but finally got there. I have front loaded all my docs, just need to arrange PCC and medicals now.

I just have a few questions, as I am abit nervous as we have done this ourselves.

1) I have just colour scanned all my docs, uncertified...im really hoping this is ok. As I have heard this is ok??

2) When going through the medical questionnaire, it asks if you have any mental health problems...I am on citalopram for low mood/mild depression...would that constitute as a mental health problem?? I guess it would so I need to declare yes?

3) Does my husband as second applicant need to prove his english ability other than passport?

Hope anyone can help with these??

Looking forward to hearing guys when we fingers crossed get these grants!! I cant believe i am finally at this point!! So exciting but nerve wracking!!

Nursebucko, I also uploaded colour documents uncertified. I think it's best to declare that you suffer from depression and are on citalopram. This is unlikely going to affect your medicals results.

Yes your husband need to prove his ability to speak english. I am not sure if a british passport is sufficient evidence, I would double check on this!

If your husband has a British passport, this is all he needs

Hi guys

we lodged our 189 on 19/10/14, hoping to go to WA early 2015. uploaded all docs except medicals and Police checks.. Medicals are booked for 3rd Nov. can someone tell me if the hospital send your results straight to immigration or back to us and then we upload them?

Thanks

If your medical checks showed a serious medical concern, it would be referred to MOC and if your visa were to be rejected because of a medical condition you'd be advised and given a period of time to respond (e.g. with specialist reports, etc.). If you aren't aware of having a medical condition of concern (e.g. MS, kidney transplant, etc.) then I wouldn't worry about it. I'm on high blood pressure meds and at my health check they took my BP twice because it was high (higher than normal, no doubt due to stress having to have a medical done and the rushing around to find the place, etc.) and I came through without any issue.

Both colour scan copy or certified copy will work. I lodged on 16th Oct and uploaded some certified documents (those are available) and some colour scan copy. I hope this information helps you. Thanks.

Thanks ashlie, fingers crossed all will be ok.

Has anyone on here been for their medicals yet? Mine are booked for the 7th November. What is the process when you get there ? Do they get in touch with your GP? I assume they do...is it just blood test and then X-ray if needed and General check up?

Im getting a little anxious about the medical, I don't really know why, none of us have any major stuff going on, just little niggling things?

We have our next Tuesday (28th) - i'll let you know.

I have been told by my mates who emigrated that it's all pretty straightforward. Standard stuff, BP, listen to chest, take bloods - chest Xray. Minor conditions aren't really a barrier I don't think.

Make it all honest if asked about any conditions or meds - I am sure that's the best way.

Hi Nursebucko,

As mentioned, that's very straightforward and standard medical check-up. I had mine this week. Blood test for HIV, chest X-ray for TB, and a pretty standard once over by the doctor looking for major pathology, height/weight, blood pressure etc.
