Question Working while waiting

Hi all, sorry to ask another question,:) so far we have a +TRA, State nom (W.A) and have sent away our stni sub 137 visa app and have started looking /applying for jobs.

O.K Here it is, if a prospective employer says "yes the jobs yours but we need you to start asap" is it possible to go out on some kind of tempory visa until the permanant is granted (Think +!)

Also when the perm. visa is granted (+++++++!) do all family members have to go in to the Country together, or can I go 1st others join later?

Please dont slate me if this is the most bone question ever. Thank you all.

Just for fun, do you agree the +TRA was the hardest form to complete?

Not 100% sure but think that if you got a temporary visa it would cancel out the 137 visa (which is what you need). We came on a 136 but assume validation is the same for you. The primary applicant (whose skills your coming on), has to be the first person to validate e.g. my hubby couldn't come to Aus before me, you can come at a different time providing all applicants arrive by the date indicated on your visa. Jo's hubby has gone to Aus with their daughter and she is arriving in a few weeks with her son.

Thanks for the timely reply, when you look at it like that it makes sense. It is my skills(Mike)were comming out on, but Roberta would like me to come out first to sort out house car school etc so its nice to know that is possible. Its just hard when you see a job advert thats made for you ,but you have to tell the employer you have no fixed arival date.I guess it will all work out in the end.How are you enjoying your time in Oz?

We love it here and have settled pretty quickly and feel content. Hubby was in a similar position, he applied for a job and we didn't then have the visa - they were looking to fill the vacancy immediatley but liked his CV and kept him on file. A few months later they emailed and asked if he was any closer - we'd got the visa by then and were migrating 2 months later - he had a telephone interview and they offered him the post.
