While waiting for EOI selection and ITA, I have started getting worried about medical. I am Hep B positive but liver function is all normal and taking no medication at all. Couple years back I applied for NZ pR and it took me quite some time to go through the medical after 3 times of refer. For some reason, I gave up the idea of going to NZ. I am now trying for OZ and my health condition is worrying me like hell. Please share if you have any experience in this regard.

Yes. I hired George Lombard myself when I was still in the US. He and his people are very adept at working with people in other countries. It wasn't an issue.

Thanks CollegeGirl. How could I contact him then? What was the total cost for your case? I am bit tight in budget so...

From your signature, it looks that it took 3 months to clear the medical. How many times did they refer your medical test?

hey Shanshui..I think i am kind of experiencing what you are going through now. But I am worse, I am under medication which is fully supported by the government

my medicals have neem referred before and took more than half a year to clear...the decision is also negative...the aussie governemnt said my medical result is negative...

but i wasn't applying as a main applicant by then....i think u might be prepared that this might take some time if you are dealing with it by yourself..it would be worth using a migration agent..im gonna do dat too in the near future...no more fuzz.......

just contacted george lombard...its a firm in summer hill NSW..just google the name and u can get his address

Hi shanshui

If you are hepatitis B surface antigen positive your panel physician will grade your medical as grade B and he will seek a opinion from a gastroenterologist, so i think it would be a better option to discuss your matters with your gastroenterologist, i cant think any any advantage of a hiring a agent solely because of this matter, hope this will help you.

Thanks Sira. I am leaning more towards not using the agents because it seems to me that immigration office would require same tests and reports which should be doable on my own. This decision is being driven by my budget. If I had enough money I surely would go gor agent. Let's how it goes.

I think not many applicant with medical conditions. Unlucky me. :-(

It actually only took about a month. My panel doctor took several weeks to send the results on (no idea why). How many TIMES did they refer it? Only once. But when I went to see my panel doctor, thanks to George's advice I knew what to take with me... letters from my specialists that had very specific information on them like date of diagnosis, prognosis, treatment, anticipated costs, etc. Thanks to George I was well-prepared so that when I saw the panel doc they didn't have to ask me for ANY follow-up information. Having a good agent's input really is invaluable. My two cents.
