Tax Back

I have been told that before i move to Australia my wife and i can claim backtax from this country does anybody know how true this is and how much we can claim

Hiya you need a p85 from tax office to claim back any tax from wages etc ,,theres alot of threads about this on this forum have a nosey through for more info,,

Thanks for that do you know how far back i can claim as the new tax year has only just begun and we are now hoping to be in oz in approx 8 weeks we cant wait

Hi Scott
Yes you can most definitely claim back any tax you paid before leaving for Oz as both my husband and daughter did! It took a while to come through but it was a nice bonus for them when here as when it's converted to Ozzie dollars sounds even more!! You just arrange with the tax office to either transfer the money to a bank account or send you a cheque.
