I Admire You All

Can I please just take this opportunity of telling you all how much guts, determination, patience and bravery you all have. I feel a bit of a fraud complaining about some of the things I have encountered over the last few months. You see my husband and I just kind of fell into emigrating to Australia, he saw an advert in a paper one day for Linesmen in Brisbane and hey presto he flew out on Saturday. (When I say hey presto I mean just under a year!) This time last year Australia was nowhere in sight, hadn't even thought about it. I thought we had a stressful enough time with our Visa applications but they seemed a breeze compared to some of you.

Just remember that everyone here is willing everyone else on to accomplish their dreams and you are not alone.

Good Luck

Sometimes get fed up of people's comments (not PIOzzers), when they say 'you're mad' 'where will you live', 'what about all the spiders/snakes/whatever'.

Just blinking well want to find out for meself thanks!!!

Cheers,
Rachel (hehe Senior now)

Thanks for that,
we are now awaiting our 2nd attempt at our skills assessment and have everything crossed. The thing is, that we all have the same goal in mind and are a pretty determined bunch. I think that with all this determination and the support of everyone on this site it keeps you going through the tough times.
Thanks again

Morven, thank you for that wish it was lovely. Can you please tell me wot sort of Linesman job your hubby has. My OH is a BT Engineer here and his equivalent job is Communications Linesperson. Was your OH employer sponsored and if so can you please let me know the name of the company. We are still at skills assessment stage but looking for jobs.

many thanks

Hi Franny

My hubby is an electrical Linesman and was sponsored by Energex in Queensland, so this is a bit different. Look out in the papers,( I actually think we saw my husband's job in the Sun of all places! ) it was only a small advert, so you never know what might turn up. Good Luck, hope you find something.:)
