Hi Wardy,
I just went into my local police station and asked for the application form which they gave me and filled in which also covers all of the counties that you may have lived in if more than one so only one form needed, pop in a cheque and post off and then wait !!!! thats the bad bit, but they do recipt your application quick its just waiting for the final clearance to come back that can take up to 40 days
good luck

hi,
you can also phone your local police station and request the forms. They can email you the correct form, and you can just print off as many as you need (which is handy if you make a mistake!)

thanks for that really appreciate it will get in touch with them.
the long wait is why we are applying now Gizmo,( we have become experts at waiting,) while we are still waiting to be acknowledged not sure why it should take so long though surely a computer can check it in half an hour.
Thanks
Kaye :)

Kaye,
Someone posted on here a couple of days ago that they went on their local force's website and just downloaded the form, I think it's a 47P or 47D, and they filled it in and sent it off. Apparently it costs £10 per person checked and everyone over 16 needs one if I remember the post rightly.
Cheers,
Rachel

I walked into my local police station and asked for the forms needed for police clearance for migration to Australia. They were quick and easy to fill in too.

Thanks Rachel will have a look on my local force website.
If that doesn't want will go into my local police station and ask them.
I have to say I know the deputy chief constable of Northumberland and she hasn't a clue about these forms even after talking to the person in charge of data protection and admin looks like those on PIO have more clue about what goes on then they do.
Thanks
Kaye :D

Police Certificates
Ask for the form that will allow you to obtain a Subject Record, issued under the Data Protection Act ... cost = £10.

Hi
Those of you that printed off the downloaded form and sent it off with your cheque, did you have to send some ID with it and if so, what do they accept and does it have to be certified?
