When my sis went I did a letter sapping on about how happy her and the OH had been together over the years etc - I think she had to get several of those from various different types of people. She pops on here sometimes so I'll point out this thread to her.

hi sainthurlock
i applied onshore on a spouse visa which is basiclly the same as defacto (my friend here applied on defacto) we both had to show along with photos, evidence of replationship by stat decs from peeps in the uk stating our relationship, we had to do a stat dec of our own each, flight tickets, hotel tickets, etc from holidays together, any loans we had had together,
club membership tickets/info, any occassion cards from friends & family, cards to each other i.e. valentines etc, invatations as a couple to any parties you been invited too,
the list goes on. we even put in photos from our school days (as hubby and i went to high school together and then split for 20 years)
good luck

Hi there,
Yeah, we had to gather the same sort of evidence that gizmo has just listed. We had an agent who suggested the types of info that would be suitable. Initially I thought it was a joke but in the end we decided to gather as much evidence as possible just to make sure.
Looks like you'll be spending the weekend raking through everything!
Good luck,
Dee

We have just sent all our info to agent today including confirmation of our relationship. Suggested sending something official ie. mortgage letter, which is held in both our names (which is something dating back to early part of relationship), also solicitor letter confirming mortgage offer on first house (didn't send anything with too much details though ie. cost of house, bank details etc). Also letter/bill from a couple of years ago, plus a recent letter/bill to confirm consistent relationship throughout these years. Haven't been asked for photos yet, we'll wait to see if they ask us. Our agent didn't point this out to us but we heard through this web site of people having to do this so we decided to send info anyhow to hopefully avoid any delays.
