Strange... We have just had our meds done and our 18 month old really only needed a quick once over. Definately no x-rays or blood tests.

Yes, you and your other half will need chest xrays and blood tests. There are also some other caveats... if you (or your OH) intend to work in a medical profession you need extra blood tests. If you have tatoos you need extra blood tests. I think it is down to your circumstances as to what you need, but certainly xrays and basic blood tests are required.

Hi Sainthurlock

Please see this link:

http://www.uk.embassy.gov.au/lhlh/health.html

Read the two Info forms for the health stuff, I would suggest. The one for permanent entry to Oz sets out the requirements for yuong children. The Temporary entry one confirms that most Britons would probably only have to have chest-rays for a 457 visa unless your health if of "special significance" for some reason (eg with a teacher or a medic/nurse etc.)

However you would need the Full Monty meds if you decide to switch to a PR visa and what any children would need for that depends on their ages.

Cheers

Gill
