Question Visa Query

Hello,
I am new to the site and I must say I have found the forum really helpful with lots of information for moving to Australia.
I am curently just waiting on my skills assessment coming back form the nursing board and then intend on applying for the visa . I am a bit unsure about a few things on the application and wondered if anyone could help.

I am applying for the skilled independant visa subclass 136 .

With regard to English capability --I take it you just say you are a uk citizen and therfore this is enough to prove your English competence????..
Regarding work experience do you have to send pay slips as well as a letter of reference and is it only one letter????
Sorry if this sounds basic, but want to provide all the info they are after.
Thank you
May

hello welcome aboard,as regards to you being a uk citizen,i wasnt sure if a uk passport was enough so to back it up i got letters from both my primary school and comprehensive stating that i attended there school,on the work experience part we sent all the documents that went towards our tra, sounds silly that they cant just contact the tra for this info.

Hello May,

I applied for and have just received the same Visa as you are applying for and I never gave any further supporting evidence for my English language capability other than the fact that I am a British Citizen Born and Bred in the UK. So if you were born here and have lived here all your life no other evidence is required other than your passport details (well, this was the case for me anyway).

To prove work experience and qualify for the recent work experience extra points I gave one reference that covered all required criteria. I did also send pay slip/s but I can't remember how many but this was explicitily stated somewhere.

I assume you are using booklet 6 as a guide too? I did not use an agent, I just followed the advice in booklet 6 and answered the questions on 47SK as clearly and simply as I could. I did make a few mistakes on the way but I also had a very understanding Case Officer!! So don't worry, it's not as harrowing as it first seems.

Regards Steve.

Smile reference

Hi May,

I am also a nurse and sent my subclass 136 on the 7/02/07. With regards to payslips I only sent one as Im sure it only asked for one. With regards to the reference I only sent one from my present employer, however it did state that within the reference to state your current salary and how many hours you work and if you are on a permanent or part time contract, it also stated that you must give 5 responsibilities and duties that your job entails it is not enough to simply say you are a nurse.

I dont know how useful this will be for you as I havent used an agent, however my friend is also applying and we have worked through the application process together and we have both done the same.

good luck

sharon

Steve I haven't heard of booklet 6, but will check it out.
I have organised my employer to do the reference for me, thanks for the info Sharon.
