Any Hairdressers that can help

Hi there,

Just wanted to know how much experience is needed after you qualify as a hairdresser at NVQ level 2 before you can apply for a visa or is there other ways without the salon experience to move over.
And if you have any idea of what a hairdresser can earn in Oz.
Any help and tips to do with this would be great.

Thankyou so much

Hiya

There is a section for hairdressers on that thread, which might help. You are allowed to join and ask around in more than one forum, as well.

Good luck honey and I'll be in touch

Cheers

Gill

Nicki Kefford is an unknown quantity at this point
Hi Ethan,

As for the time of experience as a hairdresser, I think the minimum is 900 hours training in a regulated apprenticeship and 4 years experience or 900 hours training and 5 years experience, but not sure as I received my TRA last August and I was accepted under Record Of Assessment D - skill level transition with 6/7 years experience although I have been a hairdresser now for 23 years and my qualifications are the old City and Guilds quals although i have constantly updated my skills with CPD, so I think that helped.

I do think that they require you to have some salon experience though aswell as mobile if you are s/e.

any more questions, let me know if I can help.

Hi, I am waiting for my TRA to come back at mo. I don't know how long you have to be on the floor for but i do know that you have to prove that you have beem working as a hairdresser for 12 out of the last 18 months prior to applying for your TRA. Start doing some work on it now if you can because you even have to describe the sections and angels you take and even though iv'e been a hairdresser for 13 years i couldn't of imagined the time and effort it took. You gotta realy want to go to come home and write about what youv'e been doing all day, its mind numbing. Good luck
