Renting a property

Has anyone got any info about renting a property in Brisbane. I would like to get one sorted before moving, so that we have somewhere to stay for when we arrive. Thanks for any info.....
Rache

Hi Rache,

We've just started the application process... have you tried www.realestateinaustralia.com ? I'm always looking at properties on this site, dreaming...!!!

Good luck,

Rachel

The rental market in Brisbane is out of control at the moment ,basically theres too many people and not enough houses. The only problem with the realestate site is you will probably find most have gone. They do seem to advertise propertys for ages after they have been let ,we didnt realise this till we arrived to no rentals !! you also need a inspection of the property by yourself or someone here before a let is agreed and you have to fill in an application which is points based,as we hadnt previously rented and had no references or rent reciepts we provided copys of bank statements and character references to gain the points ,offering a few month up front seems to give you a head start too.I would seriously try and rent somehere from the uk for a few week although there is limited places that do this, but securing a 6 or 12mth rental when still in the uk will be difficult,i would check out the cabin and caravan parks as they are pretty good and some have pools ,which is better than a motel room especially if you have kids, hope this helps
