How long?

Hi,

We are thinking of moving to Oz in 2 and a half years. Does anyone know how long the application process takes, and once it is approved, how long we will have before we have to take up residence in Oz?

Apprecite any help & advice.

I would give it a year at the least, firstly you have to get your skills assessed if you are going this route and then it will take for main visa application anything from 6 months onwards, unless you are really lucky and zip through somehow..You will at some point be asked to send of your medicals and police checks and when visa is granted it will last for a year from the date of your police check or medical, whichever is earliest,,You have to validate it by this date but then I believe you get 5 years to actually settle:)
