visa payments

Hi ,could anyone tell me how much the visa cost,looked on there web site and it had 2 payments.one of 1,990 and a second of 2,765 dollars,but i was unsure weather we had to pay the second payment,thanks Mike :D

Glad it's not just me!

I'm glad it's not just me thinking that same thing! I read it that if you had competent English and so didn't need any translations etc you would not have to pay the second payment. So that would mean you would just have to pay the £795??????????? :?:

We just paid the $1990 which at the time was £845 (cos of the exchange rate)

We paid the $1990 which worked out at £823.70 this week.

Thanks for putting my mind at rest,thats how i read it but i was not 100 %.im sending my TRA off tomorrow so the next three weeks are going to drag untill we get the letter back,many thanks for the replys Mike. :)

Hi Mike & Mandy
I made same mistake as you, nearly had heart failure but found out you only have to pay second instalment if your dependents need english classes out in oz. So as long as that is not case you just pay 1990 dollars which is bout 800 pounds. Still expensive tho!

The second VAC is only payable if there is an issue with the English language competencies of the visa applicant/s => for most of these migrating to Australia the second VAC isn't payable.

We only paid £80 for our visa application, i also think they are all different depending on what visa type it is too.

i was confused by this i think the 2nd payment is for if you havent children aged 18 years?I could be worng but we were told we didnt need to pay that just the $1990 as are kids are under 18....... Hope this helps
