Immigration agencies

Just wondering about whether to look into using an agency to help with the visa process and wondered about any good ones people had used and how much they cost.
Any advice would be appreciated

Hi dave&donna,

We started our application in January 2006, we looked at numerous different agencies, and their professionalism and found that Global Visas were the most professional. Throughout the whole process, they helped with every step of the process, and were very helpful in advise on how to write the tra- skilled migrant declaration. It was a very smooth process, and very informative. We know that the application costs money, but we wanted to make sure that the application was correct, and for peace of mind we used Global Visas. They always kept us informed of updates, and were always prompt with enquiries. Great company to use. We now have our visas with no hassles.

Whoever you decide to use, I recommend you engage a Registered Migration Agent - ie one who is regulated by the Migration Agents Registration Authority. You can access the list of registered agents at this webpage:
http://www.themara.com.au/Online/ARS...asp?DeptID=140

If you want an agent in the UK select Country in the drop down box adjacent to "Find an Agent Near You", and then type United Kingdom in the text box.

It is also worth knowing that the first two digits of a registered migration agent's MARA number are the year in which he or she was first registered. This can give an indication of the number of years of experience handling Australian migration matters, but not always, as some become registered after several years working in the Department of Immigration.

Hope this helps.

I can recommend www.e-ra.biz (Oz Migration) they have very different service offers, which allows you to decide on your needs and budget (the following is taken from their website)

The Desktop ($1500) service being an online 24/7 resource, packed full of information, recommendations, Checklists, Notes, Links and
DIY simplified visa application service, saving thousands ($000s) on the immigration process and visa applications – there is also a
2 hour review built-in of a persons application, prior to lodgement. This service is available for up to four years to the user (once Joined)
which supports the person completely through the transition of the move, during and after (settlement) as required.

The Premium service is using highly qualified lawyers/migration agents (fully registered with MARA and resident in Australia)
assigned to fully assist the person/s with the visa application process at very competitive rates.

Regards

Jade

We are using Bird Australian Migration Agency they have a website www.ozmigration.com.au.
They were recommended by friends and the agent, Cheryl, has migrated from the UK herself so she understands exactly how frustrating the process is and always keeps us up to date on whats happening. She always answers our e-mails quickly and calls when we need to talk to her (this is all included in their fee which for our 136 visa is AU$2,530) around £980. :D
