Agent or no agent

Having observed many of our students applying for PR onshore in Oz most manage on their own (with English as a second language) and if you get a +ve score from points calculator it is a good indication, if not then consider an agent for an alternative visa.

In Australia it does not take much research to find community based agents who do not charge much, and now many universities etc. have one of their own personnel as a MARA agent.

The concern we have from PR candidate feedback is that a migration agent cannot actually do much after suggesting visa type http://www.immi.gov.au/students/migr...ents/index.htm , or conversely the www.immi.gov.au site is generally very clear on what to do. Most told us that the collection of required documents, which an agent cannot do, was the most time consuming.

Cheers Andrew

Re: Agent or no agent

Interesting article in today's The Age regarding students applying for permanent residency visas:
http://www.theage.com.au/news/nation...919213448.html

The jury is out on the question of whether it is desirable for there to be a pathway for overseas students obtaining permanent residency with lower barriers insofar as work experience and English language competency are concerned. I think we can expect changes to the Migration Regulations in the not too distant future.

Best regards.

They were recommended by friends and the agent, Cheryl, has migrated from the UK herself so she understands exactly how frustrating the process is and always keeps us up to date on whats happening. She always answers our e-mails quickly and calls when we need to talk to her (this is all included in their fee which for our 136 visa is AU$2,530) around £980. :D
it would be good if i got the web address correct....
