my wife and myself applied for our visa 6 months ago and judging by other peoples time frames for recieveing there visas i'm hoping it won't be long.
since we applied my wife,(43) has had to under go a hysterectomy(spelling?), for fibroids,(non-cancerous growths), but as she was left with her ovaries she does not require hrt. she is still off work sick but is making good progress and is expecting to return to work in about 3 weeks. will having this operation affect her medical staus?, could she be failed?. she did have to have a blood transfusion during the op. we have no children the chance is now gone, could this affect our chances?. any info would be good.
Hi there
Not an expert on these matters but shouldn't be a problem since the growths were non-cancerous. Your wife will probably be asked for an additional report done privately by a surgeon which should state the nature of her problem, the fact that she is making a complete recovery and shouldn't as a result have any more problems. The report is used to determine if your wife is likely to make a considerable impact on medical resources and that seems highly unlikely from what you have said. The best policy is to be open and honest at the medical as it can backfire. We had an additional report requested for our daughter for glue ear and whilst we were concerned that we would fail, common sense dictated that glue ear would not stop a visa!! It added about a month to the process, but we were just glad to get a visa!! I don't think you'll have a problem.
Good luck and try not to worry :)
