TRA experience required

I am a joiner consider applying for my tra. Im just wondering if i sent of all the info i could to prove my skill (certificates & some references) & this still didnt prove to be enough. Would it be kept on record and hinder any future applications.I could get a lot more proof if i was to wait 12 mths or so. But i just thought it may be worth the risk now to save some time.As $300 is a snip on the scale of things. Also how long does it take. And if i was succesfull would that be it as far as my skill goes or do they go sniffing again when applying for my visa.

Thanks cal. got loads of experience and lots of joinery firms to vouch for it & certificates. however the last couple of years my main full time job hasn't been in the joinery trade. So i may struggle a bit to prove recent work experience. I will endevour.

I know the skills assessment for nursing is only valid for a couple of years after that you would have to apply again - don't know if it's similar for other trades. I'm sure someone on here would be able to let you know
