chances following cancer

My family undertook medicals on March 1st. however on the 10th we discovered my wife had stomach cancer. She started chemo in April, underwent surgery in July, finished chemo in October, got the all clear in November.final medical report and very good prognosis sent Nov 17th.
Although we know how lucky we are already, is there anyone who has been in a similar situation and can give us an indication of what decision we can expect.
Yes, she has to be monitored for five yrs, but this can be done anywhere.
I am the main applicant not my wife.
Also advice on private medical insurance would be appreciated.

Hello Bondy

Hmmmm. I think the shot is too close to call. I don't think anyone can predict what the MOC's next move will be so soon after the treatment has ended.

I do firmly suggest that you read this thread, though:

There is an absolutely EXCELLENT descripition of how DIMA/the MOC approaches various medical conditions, including cancers, and apparently the information came from DIMA.

Good luck and I hope it will be good news once you hear from your CO again.

Do you have UK private medical insurance?

I have just had confirmation from BUPA australia that the will waive any exclusions for pre existing conditions and waiting periods as we are already customers in the UK.

Thanks Gill

Checked out the link.
Everything required sent off.
Just got to wait and see.
Optomistic though, as the tumor discovered very early, primarily due to our pushing for Oz.(could say it saved ELLE's life)
We're winners either way
will keep you posted

Bondy
