Hi all
We are another couple wanting to emigrate to oz, we are thinking of perth.
Could you tell us what the TRA is i keep hearing, is it the visa application.
kerry is a solicitor and paul is a gardener, paul is a little worried about the spiders while weeding (should he be?)
kerry has contacted the law society to have her skills assessed, could anyone tell us the next steps.
any replys appreciated

Skills migration application

in response to your visa application the process is:

1 - Skills assessment (as you already have done)
2 - Complete your skilled migration visa (easy if you have plenty of solicitor friends to certify all you paperwork!)
3 - Wait - it took them 6 months to reply (post initial confirmation)
4 - They assess you application to make sure on paper you meet the points test
5 - They request your medicals and police checks
6 - DO NOT GET THESE unti requested, you have one year from the date of your medicals to make initial entry in to Australia, not from when your visa is awarded
7 - Wait again, it took 3 months to award our visas after the medicals

We did all the form filling ourselves, it was very easy. I'd all a few of the companies on the web for a free assessment of points, if you easily pass on black and white criteria I'd do it yourself. If they start debating complicated options to get you the points it may be worth paying for advice.

I read on another forum that no one has died for 30 years from a spider in Oz.
