Acknowledging receipt of application?

Our application was delivered to DIMA by the courier and signed for about 3 weeks ago. Will the next communication I receive from DIMA be the acknowledgement in a few months' time, when they take the payment too? I've read a few horror stories on this forum about applications going missing once in the DIMA offices, and now I don't have the actual application to worry about, I am worrying about it going AWOL. Is there any way of finding out if it's been received OK in the relevant office and is sitting waiting to be processed?

I didn't get an apllication acknowledgemnt after 3 months, though they took the money from my card after 6 days!!

So I e-mailed them asking for acknowledgemnt and they sent me a copy of an acknowledgement letter which was dated around the time of my application but I hadn't reveived it!

So, if they have already taken the money from you, I would e-mail to inquire where the acknowledgement letter is.

If they've taken your money then you know they've got it. We also got an email acknowledging receipt of our application and that normally tells you approx how long it the wait for processing is.

My tip would be, that about 2 weeks before the latter date for processing - request your police checks as they take ages to arrive (up to 40) days.

Hi all, sorry I haven't had chance to look on the forum since I posted last week. The payment hasn't actually been taken from my card yet...is there any other way of checking if they have received the application and it's 'in the queue', or is it simply a case of waiting until the payment is taken? Ta.

We had our acknowledgement via email after 2 weeks and they took the money pretty damm quick too. You can always call a see if they have received your application if you are worried. I have to warn you thou, things close down over here at Xmas so don't be surprised if they are on a bit of a go slow at the moment. Everything closes down between Xmas and New Year for 1-2 weeks as it is their school summer hols at that time.

I waited 2 months for an acknowledgement - 2 weeks after they debited the credit card. No way of checking when it was received as far as I know.

Hi. When we applied, we ticked we would like notification of them recieving our application by email. We were notified by them within a few weeks that they had recieved our application. likewise we have recieved all comunication from them by this method.
I have also found that if you email them with your reference numbers they will let you know if they have recieved documentation like your medical and police checks.
They wont give you any information about how your application is progressing, but at least you know they have your information.
