Migrants being fast tracked?

Phil might be able to answer this better, but at my coffee shop I saw a headline in the Daily Telegraph (Sydney tabloid, absolute rubbish) that a severe skills shortage meant new migrant apps were being fast tracked. Not sure if there been any DIMA updates or anything, but thought I'd let you know.

Hi Ian

Let me put this into context.

The DIMA have a shortage of staff. MODL occupations are given priority and have been for some time.

DIMA have also recently employed a PR person because of bad press over 457's.

The press - given them a fishing rod, and they will catch a large fish EVERY TIME.

Phil
