Here are the latest processing dates from Adelaide. These largely appear to be good news - things have been picking up pace a little bit. I think there must have been a mad rush of applications during late september / early october (which stands to reason after the advertising AU were doing in the spring) but those seem to be clear.
Being selfish about it - we lodged on the 28th November, so I'm hoping for a case officer in the next fortnight :)
Cheers
Choobs

Was wondering ,do you think Adelaide have filled their quota for this visa year?
As i posted before, our application seems to be completed and just sitting on the CO'S desk, back on 2nd june she said she hopes to finalise it within 4 weeks,i am sure the new visa year starts on 1 july and was wondering if this is what the delay was.
Me too - we lodged in December (acknowledged 31st), p.c. posted 12th June - now just waiting and waiting and waiting... Hubby says a watched pot never boils I'm wondering if someone forgot to turn the gas on!!!
I reckon our CO is getting commission from the airlines, just been getting quotes and the last few cheap seats are going going gone,it's so frustrating as we just can't risk booking them ,we are now looking at 5 th july as last cut off before the prices sky rocket,is it possible to get a visa on 30th june and be gone by 5th july??

So, it looks like they're getting back to the normal rate of a fortnight of applications per week. I guess this means that we should be allocated a case officer some time next week. We've certainly gone way past the estimate of 7 weeks we were given when the delay was first announced.
Having said that, I'm not sure where that nice Mr Meadowcroft fits into this because he was allocated a case officer a fortnight before his dates came up, so maybe they're a tad unreliable.
Anyhoo - it's nice to see SOMETHING is happening, even if it's not terribly accurate.
The dates that are listed on the auto reply appear to be about 2 weeks behind; I think that this is a safety-net for DIMIA so that they are not inundated with phone calls etc.
I'm quite surprised about the application waiting on the CO desk and this not being processed, I think I’d be taking this further but then again id be worrying that they would put the application to the bottom of the pile for processing.
From meds being requested to visa being granted was less that 7 days, we booked the meds 2 weeks prior so this helped, but all in all it was pretty fast.
The 136 skilled independent non-modl visa which I applied for, was being fast tracked due to the cut off date for the end of June.
About a week before we got the CO allocated I called Adelaide and was told that my application was going to be processed in about 4 months time!!
I decided to go with the auto-reply as a guide.
I know that this is easier said than done, but try to not think about it, as I found that it consumed my life.
It will come round eventually……….
Just make the most of the weather and Big Brother!!
We did email the CO again as her deadline has come and gone and she said "your medicals have been cleared ,but internal matter is still pending and i will be checking it on a daily basis" What on earth does that mean???? They have had our meds and police checks for over 5weeks now and have asked for no other info,my husband emailed her again and asked if this matter was do do with us.
We applied for 136 skilled independant MODL back in December and keep reading all these other people being granted their visa's.
How long does it take to tell you if they don't accept you??
I don’t know if DIMIA work from July - July and maybe allocating the numbers for 2006/2007 visa's. It seems strange that they are not processing your application given that they have all the relevant paper work.
I'd give it a few weeks before making contact again as this will allow for the numbers for July to be confirmed.
I might be totally wrong with this but it just seems strange that the agent told us DIMIA are fast tracking the non-modl 136 for the end of June 2006 as they need to make the numbers up.
I think if it was going to be bad news you would have been told by now.
All the best anyway, try not to get on a downer about it all.
Thats all we can do now really is wait,i'm sure the CO is prob fed up with us emailing her(maybe thats why she is keeping us waiting  ).
I would like to think if it was a "NO" she would have already told us, oh well back to the waiting game, I hate that game!!!
