please help tra question
we are about to apply for tra. my husband has been working as a wall and floor tiler for just over 4 yrs, he has no qualifacations only on the job experience. does he have to have had 6yrs experience before we even apply.
you need to go back the last 7 years with references from suppliers, customers, employers etc hope this helps a bit
thanks for your answer
but my husband has only been working in this field for 4 and half years as his previous job was in a warehouse. so he is unable to go back 7 years. does this mean we cannot apply.

Unfortunately without a fully indentured apprenticeship your husband can not qualify with 4 years on the job experience.
There is a 5 year informal apprenticeship route which can be covered with a reference verifying this training period. The other option is to wait and apply for the 6 year on the job training route which will also need to be verified with a training reference.
Wall and Floor Tilers have recently been added to Australia’s Occupation in demand list (MODL) which means there is an obvious shortage of this skill there. Perhaps if you and your husband were keen to get out there ASAP he might like to apply for a few jobs in Australia and go via the route of employer sponsorship.
