      thanks for your answer
but my husband has only been working in this field for 4 and half years as his previous job was in a warehouse. so he is unable to go back 7 years. does this mean we cannot apply.
      thanks again

      Hi Kelly and Jay

Unfortunately without a fully indentured apprenticeship your husband can not qualify with 4 years on the job experience.

There is a 5 year informal apprenticeship route which can be covered with a reference verifying this training period. The other option is to wait and apply for the 6 year on the job training route which will also need to be verified with a training reference.

Wall and Floor Tilers have recently been added to Australia’s Occupation in demand list (MODL) which means there is an obvious shortage of this skill there. Perhaps if you and your husband were keen to get out there ASAP he might like to apply for a few jobs in Australia and go via the route of employer sponsorship.

      MODL info: http://www.visabureau.com/australia/...mand-list.aspx

      Cheers and good luck!
