Recommended book to explain the emigration process to Oz.

Hi Everybody,

There is a great book available called:-

"Going To Live In Australia" by Mary Neilson & Matthew Collins.
ISBN : 1-85703--935-1.

Try Ebay and Amazon.co.uk etc. Retails at £12.99

It covers both temporary and pemanent entry into OZ with all the various routes than can be taken etc. It also looks at Education, housing and all other aspects of life after relocation. There is also the points system laid out so you can work out your own points and see if you are eligable to apply and a list of occupations in demand including the most wanted etc.

Helped us anyway!

These books are great in helping you make your move. Just be sure to keep an eye out for any legislation changes which may effect your application.

For example occupations added to the MODL allowing you an additional 15 points.

Cheers,

That's an important point. Make sure if buying this / similar book, make sure of it's print date. According to my copy, the total # of points for skilled independant visa was 115 pts, however when I applied this had been increased to 120pts. As far as I know this still stands.
Regardless though, this particular book has proved very helpful.

Worth a look if you're thinking of emigrating and need some info about it all.

Cheers all
