Hi Becca,

If you change jobs, you have to let DIMIA know. Not sure whether it would hinder the application though, but I for one won't be risking it!

I had to - I gave my employer advance notice that I was moving because I was in an important role. Their reponse was to kick me out :-/ When I started a new job (a day later) I filled in a change of circumstances form. I'm hoping the case officer, when allocated, just looks at the references for the 18 months prior to lodging the application because I don't want to have to ask for a reference from the new place in case I get kicked out again :(

Hi Choobs,

You should be ok as long as you've let DIMIA know. They shouldn't need an additional reference as your current application proves that you've worked 3 of the last 4 years (at the date of applying). At most they would need proof that you're working there, and you could probably get away with sending payslips! Alternatively, you should be able to obtain a basic reference (role and dates) from HR with any bog standard excuse - a mortgage might be a good one!

Let me know how you get on, so I know whether I can change jobs myself!!

Good luck,
Dazz

Hi Daz,

Checked with my agent - DIMIA usually don't look at anything post lodgement, so I should be ok :)
