Pre Grant Letter

HI all,
When people say they have had a pre grant letter, is this the final step?
does this mean that the visa is granted, and you just need to send the pasports off to London to have the visa put in

We had a pre grant email, two days later we had the offical email telling us to wait five days then send our passports to London for stamping of the visa.

A pre-grant letter is usually only issued if the applicant is in Australia and needs to leave the country in order to have the visa grant finalize.

As soon as the applicant is out of Australia, they are emailed the official grant letter which they take to the agreed upon Australian High Commission for evidencing.

Basically though, if you have been issued with a pre-grant letter your visa will be granted (provided of course that there are no unexpected problems before the official grant letter is issued). If you have been told to send your passports in for evidencing, your visa is actually granted.
