Hi, I personally would wait and if you could manage it, book them for a week after the tenants moved in, just in case there are any issues that you need to deal with in the beginning - unless of course you have a key holder/caretaker minding it for you. Also if you wanted to book now, check with the airline how much it would cost to change the tickets. I changed mine when leaving Perth, bought it forward 3 days, and it cost an extra $300. I didn't care as I had urgent family problems and I had to leave immediately, but that wouldn't suit everyone. Good luck on your move.

Thanks for your advice guys, it all helps! Plans so far are all as we had hoped, if anything a bit earlier than we had anticipated but good for our daughter as she gets to start a new term at her school which means hopefully she will have a few friends she can get to know better in the 6 week holidays! It does mean she will repeat the last few months of year 9 though but she does not mind. All we have do is book the flights now, but has proved a bit of a dilemma. Leaving party booked, not really looking forward to it tbh..

I was in a similar situation a few months back but we were waiting for our new baby's visa (she wasn't thought of when the rest of us got our visas 2 years ago)!! I was told it wouldn't be granted until August so I didn't know whether to wait until we had it or take a leap of faith and book flights and hope for the best! I took a leap of faith and booked the flights. It worked out well as we got her visa in June!
We fly to Perth on October 1st but we're doing a 3 day stop over in Singapore. Where are you heading? Our removal company come next Monday so it's all very exciting now!
Good luck x

You have given me hope! It should be fine, but its the 'what if' scenario that keeps me sceptical. We are heading to the sunshine coast, streets paved in gold (actually silver) and all that ;) we are stopping over in Thailand for 10 days. Flights were not a lot dearer to be fair and accommodation is actually cheaper there then Oz, so we thought what the heck! If we didnt have work to think about (finding it) then we would stay until our stuff arrived! Best of luck with your move and the rest..
