visa requirement help!!!!

hi guys...my partner has had a really positive job interview...and looks like he may well have landed a job in oz...exciting times!!!! He is a welder/fitter (??!!) Our only problem is he can only find certain city and guilds certificates!!! we have all of his foundation certificates but only a few of his level 2. whilst we have spoken to city and guilds and have paid for them to look through their archives to see if he has passed his level 2, he is adamant he has and is hoping they'll send the relevant certificates through. however...just in case it doesn't go as planned, does anyone know if his foundation certs would be enough to get his 457 visa granted?
