Hi Andy
To add to what Phil has said, a lot of nurses also emigrate under employer sonsorship initially, because it is quick and there will be instant job-security on arrival. I think the deal is that after a probabtionary period, the employer agrees to sponsor them for permanent migration.
However, I've read a couple of articles which suggest that being a temporary resident is not advantageous tax-wise, and that it is better to go for
PR from the start if you can. Others could explain this to you better than I could.
I did a Google search for ROV Technician + West Australia. As someone else has said, there seem to be plenty of job-adverts for them.
Bear in mind though that I've endless posts about Perth recently (my sister lives there) and a lot of people seem to be worried that house-prices in Perth have become - or are swiftly becoming - as high as they are over here.
Good luck with your plans.
