      Hello
I have recently accepted an offer within my company to be moved to australia. I wonder wether you could inform me about the time that can take to get the VISA, once i sign the contract.
      Regards

They will tell you it can take up to ten weeks from lodging the application, but most get turned round much quicker than that if the government decide they don't need lots of additional information - and that depends on the answers you give on the form

Mine took two weeks. There's a fair amount of paperwork to be done before the application can be lodged - your employer has to do the nomination, you've got a complicated form to fill out and a lot of supporting paperwork (birth certificate, passport, marriage cert if relevant etc) to find, scan and supply as well, and that will take 2 or 3 weeks at best

It can take from a few days to a few weeks. You need a fair bit of luck to get your visa quickly. I've been waiting three weeks & no sign of a case officer as yet! My employer used as agent so the application was submitted fairly quickly, with all supporting documents attached.

You'll probably have to provide additional information to show that your relationship is long-term and ongoing - stuff like joint mortgage, joint bank accounts, joint names on utility bills, evidence you have lived together all that time and so on

It's easy for us married types - just one certificate ;-)

      Hi Dani

We are also moving to Sydney on a 457, and still waiting for it to come through. My timeline is in my signature if it helps, take a look at the 457 timeline thread here, a few people in the same situation there :-)

Agreed a lot of the delays are with providing paperwork and such, once you get a case officer working on it they seem to be pretty quick, but then there seems to be a 7 day wait between providing paperwork and them looking at it again. Good luck!
