ptlabs
Hi all, The Victorian state government has today released an updated State Migration Plan. People wishing to apply for state sponsorship to Victoria should review the latest SMP. IT occupations have been re-instated, and more details can be found here: http://ptlabs.com.au/articles/?id=28 Cheers Peter

George Lombard
Effective 2 November, Victoria has twiddled its settings on its State Migration Plan, in particular it has broadened its criteria for IT and some other occupations by removing many specialisation requirements. Strangely, the IT requirements now include an express exclusion of three specialisations, meaning, one would assume, that all other specialisations, provided you've got a relevant skills assessment, are viable. The excluded specialisations are as follows: Web Designer Help Desk Operator Help Desk Manager. Cheers, George Lombard
Guest auzzycrazzy
Hi George, I'm planning to apply for Victoria SS. Victoria has stated on it's wbsite, Canadian citizens don't have to provice IELTS results, but my occupation (Software Tester), requires IELTS 7 in each module. I'm confused, being a Canadian citizen, do I need to provide IELTS 7 in each module Thanks in advance
George Lombard
Hi Auzzy, I think you wouldn't meet their specific selection criteria without the IELTS test. Generalia specialibus non derogant. Bear in mind that Victoria runs a competitive system so having the occupation is not necessarily enough to be successful - you don't know who else is applying.
