My husband is taking the test on Saturday also in Manchester? Where are you taking yours?
He is pretty nervous but has been hitting level 7 and 8 in the practice material. He needs at least a level 7 for his visa.
Best of luck.

Thanks for the info, much appreciated - it's a bit of a weird one to study for, but lots of prep material around, so that helps. Wishing everyone who has yet to do it the very best of luck x

I'm taking mine in London - I've done quite a bit of reading up on it, and I need all 8s.....here's hoping! :)
Would you have any links for videos/practice tests please?

OH did his IELTS on 13th August and mentioned there was a lot of background noise during the listening part and he found the accent of the speaker (broad Aussie accent!) offputting.
He got 9 (reading), 7.5 (listening), 9 (speaking) & 7.5 (writing) so missed out on the 8 and above but in hindsight we already knew we wanted to go to WA so happy for State Sponsorship.
OH recommends lots of practice and doing several of the listening tests as in hindsight it would have helped. Good, flowing handwriting also essential as OH reckons he lost 0.5 a point for poor handwriting..... (his hands were shaking!)

The listening test seems to be the tricky one..look at this for example..

Particularly Section 3...has anyone else tried this and had an issue with it?....it's just not clear to me at all.
I also was marked incorrect for writing 'per cent' instead of '%', which is ridiculous, as both versions are correct.
Quite annoying now, with two days to go...
