457 and AHPRA

I have a job offer in Queensland as a midwife. I sent my documents and application to APRHA in June and have been asked for additional documents which have been sent. I applied for a 457 visa after my employer sponsor sent me the TRN and I had my medical completed on 21/7 according to DIAC. I will be going with my husband and 11 year old son and they have not been asked to have medicals.

I suppose there are two things here. How long will it be till we hear about visa and is the wait for registration with APRHA really 4-6 months as they say?
I have contacted them using there online enquiry service but have not heard anything.

We are hoping to be in Queensland by November... is this realistic?

Evening, I have no experience of the 475 visa, but have recently completed the Aphra process, and it took 3 months from when I sent my form in, till my registration was granted. The hold-ups came from Aphra not receiving stuff from the NMC, and a question over my Uni Transcript. I used the Perth office as heading there.
Not sure if that helps or not!!!

Thanks. They have told me that they have not recieved any transcripts or verification from NMC, but the Uni's I went to and the NMC have told me they have been sent. Feel a bit like piggy in the middle!

Hey :) I applied to AHPRA in April but still haven't received registration, I called them a few times over the past few weeks and they say they have a huge back log just now and they will be assessing my application as soon as they can. You should try calling them and speak to your case worker it might hurry them along, well I'm hoping it will for me anyway! They say mine is a difficult case though as Im learning disability trained and may have to go to the board?! It may be easier for you as a midwife.

I have applied to Queensland and hoping to work there, I have heard they recognize Learning disability nursing there more than any other state. Really Ill just work anywhere the jobs are! but have been told by all agencies that I need my registration letter first before I can apply for jobs! its doing my head in! where about in Queensland are you heading?

We are going to Warwick, about 2 hours south of Brisbane. Have you checked out the Queensland Health website? They have all types of nursing jobs advertised.

Yeh I have checked and registered with them but nothing at the moment, they say some posts will be coming up soon though!fingers crossed :)

Hi everybody! I'm also applying (well hubby is) through aphra and then 457... Does he need to do skulls assesment through anmc? I don't really understand this skills bit. How long does it take and do we have to get it? Thank you.

im applying to ahpra process from belfast - think the whole process is nightmare, being told wait until i get aussie reg before applying for jobs, I'm hopin to be sponsored job, I'm an rgn. it's all confusing, hoping to go to sydney. I
