      Prescriptions

Just getting readyto depart theuk and want to ensure we have everything we need. I am on pain killers, premenantly as prescribed by a pain management clinic, my son is asthmatic (mild). Will a letter from my GP be sufficent to continue with thise course. Has anyone had experience of this, if so what did you take with you, or if you had issues on arrival, how did you overcome them?

I have a heart condition, on permanent medication, I just gave my doctor a list of medication and a run down of my history. they send you for any tests, xray or anything else that is needed. Just continued on my medication as normal

If children are moving they have to bring their vaccination record.

      Hi Gaz,

If I remember correctly you are coming in via China thro to Singapore then Aus ?

I personally would always carry a letter with you.... I did a post recently on carrying medciations thro the UAE http://www.pomsinoz.com/forum/transp...dubai-uae.html which doesnt concern you but it might help other members.

Yep, you're correct, we leave in 30 days time, flying to Shanghai, then to Singers then on to Adelaide.

Oh dear, the nerves have really kicked in now. Not been on here for a while, been really busy wrapping up things here in the UK, plus coming on here was making me feel worse. Work now knows, as do all our family and friends. Still working all hours and no doubt i will up till my last day (but thats me, i cannot help it, i get paid to do a job so i do it to the best of my ability)

There is a possibility that the drugs you are currently on are not on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme, in which case, you would have to pay the retail cost of the drugs rather than the subsidised maximum of $34 per fill. I am sure that when you discuss this with your new GP they will talk to you about options that are available here if the particular drug you now have is not available on the PBS. It will help to have a list of what you and your son are currently taking so the GP can work out what they will prescribe for you.
