176 VISA - Medicals & Police checks

Hi there

We will be starting our 176 visa app tomorrow. Can anyne help wtha couple of questions please?

When it comes to medicals and police checks how do we organise these? Are you given info on this once you have submitted the form?

Does the one year to validate start from when the visa has been granted or from the date when you have your medical? Or the date the medicals are approved? (if this happens?).

The visa is stamped from the date your medicals are approved. Some people front load their meds and police checks which mean they send them with the visa, but you don't have to do this, and a case officer will be in touch to ask for you to do the meds and character refs if you don't front load.

thanks for your reply. Is there a long delay between having meds done and meds approved? Just trying to gauge an idea of timescales for when we may need to validate by. Need to save up for flights and keep annual leave free etc ...
Not sure what category we are, but we have state sponsorship and are on state migraton plan, sol etc

We have just got our 176 we had our meds done on the 7th April we have to validate by the 8th of april 2012

Just had our medicals done yesterday and been told it could be about a month for visa to be granted.

anyone with 176 visa medical finalized ( not through E-health) after 15th April and having a status medical referred before , please let me know as my medical was referred since 14th April 2011. just want to know the current processing applicants which are referred.
