175 visa..... Am i the only one?

hi we too are pure 175 applicants august 2009. have booked our medicals for april 2011. sorting our police checks now. i thought by looking at the catagory 3 threads that diac were steaming through them, and correct me if im wrong but i thought i had seen several 175's being processed and not just 176's.
i am optimistic that we will have a case officer within the next few months. HOPING AND PRAYING.
am now getting sorted to put our house up for sale too.

Oh it's so exciting...!
I have wanted to do all of the above but too scared to go ahead and book Meds and put house up for sale, kinda feel like I would be tempting fate a little bit. Probably just being paranoid! Lol. Also, we have a wedding at the end of April next year so booking Meds now would mean we would definitely miss it, but also not wanting to hang around here for another year if we get the chance to go! Dilema's!!! Lol.

I'm a 175 visa applicant too. TRA passed June 2008. Applied for 175, 2nd July 2009. Not yet got a case officer but hoping to get CO and visa before the end of this year to get back to Oz! We left in March 2010 after living there for 4 years on 476 visa. Gutted to have left and can't wait to get back. We won't be putting the house on the market until the visa has been approved. Have seen too many changes and delays by DIAC over the last few years, to jinx anything by booking medicals or putting house on market.

So you have been waiting for a CO for over 18 months. What does your application say when you view it obnline and can you email them to chase it up?

It's not changed since the day we applied. I've chased them before and they just reply with "it will be looked in line with the processing timelines" a little unhelpful i know but i'm going to give it till the 2 year time then if i have not got a CO then i'll be getting in touch. Can't wait to get back there, you don't realise how good it is till you have left there. Any how good luck to everyone hope we all get CO soon

Yeh bring on the CO's for the 175's!!! Lol
I'm not sure whether to book medicals and police checks as they seem to be working on June 09 at the moment, they seem to be ripping right through them. Well the 176's that is... I've yet to see a pure 175 get allocated a CO.

thats great. i am hearing so many negative posts on here about oz, how expensive it is, how people can not find work, rent is high, it has given me serious worries, so it is good to read positive things x

No i believe that the CO will tell you to get them done once you get allocated one. We Had medicals done in aug 2009 but changes happened in sept 2009 so they are well out of date now so we'll have to do them again. I would wait to be allocated a CO but each to there own .

Dont listen to the negativity, people make of it what they will. Expensive? well its all relative really so i wouldn't worry. Rent is high? once again all relative. Stay positive it will be great, remember oz is not u.k so try not comparing every thing it drives you crazy belive me

May 09 applicant. No CO yet. Heard nothing. Except a CO in the next couple of months. Just about to do our medicals/pcc upfront in anticipation. To add to stress (though very excited!) leaving in May for a job in Sydney on a 457 visa and so just applying for that too! Stress! My life is visa central currently!
