Matt your back, where have you been, was asking Alan (Proview ) where you were, how's the diving going

We lodged August 2009 and don't expect to get CO before at least August of this year & visa before the end October/ November. Will have to re do our Meds & PC's as they run out May & June.

I have been busy with work and lately, I do normally pop on here but not had the time and when I have popped on here, someone has received a CO who lodged well after me...boo hoo

Anyway, fingers crossed something comes our way as we have all waited long enough I reckon.

Not managed any diving recently as the dive shop I am currently a member of, Orca Divers, had closed for the festive period and only re opens tomorrow. So looking to get back into the water soon enough.
Has your OH managed to dive these past few months?

I dont know if its that an official date, my agent reckons by June I should at least have a CO. Once you get a CO you basically have your foot in the door so then you could at least have a ball park figure of when you could head over to Oz.

I am going to email my agent again and ask should I go and get my meds done as I would prefer to have them done so they are ready to go.

My agent was pretty optimistic with me receiving a visa this year, isnt there something on the immigration time scale about if you lodged before july 2010, that you would receive a CO or visa by July 2011?? I remember seeing that somewhere on the web but I cannot remember where. I have had a look through my web history but cant find a thing on it.

And regarding what you mentioned earlier about Queensland having the floods, you'd reckon they would be letting more tradesmen in so they could help with the rebuilding process. Some parts of Queensland still have surrounding water so its not all completely gone.

think its finalised by dec 2011 for 175/6 lodged before july 2010 for other cat 3 visas like the 400's and 800's theyre supposed be by july 2011 - it's all on diac website in the clients charter section but of course only a guide i think and everyone seems to intepret it a bit differently http://www.immi.gov.au/about/charters/client-services-charter/visas/8.0.htm.

Hi Matt, Paul last went in November, just down the road to Babbacombe, the viz has been bad & it's been really cold, he likes warm weather diving

Isn't it frustraiting that they need tradies in Qld at the moment & we can't get there, not prepared to go on temp visa, paid out enough now want the real thing, hopefully it shouldn't be too long now. Would think you should get CO in the next couple of months, hasn't it been a long ride from when we started

I bet the water was freezing !! I like warm water diving, especially so warm that you can go in your shorts and t-shirt! Thats only happened once when I was in the Red Sea.

hi all, we too are Cat 3 - applied April 09 with Queensland sponsorship. The DIAC processing timeframes on their client charter says all Cat 3's to be done and dusted by end of 2011 for those who applied before July 2010, we'll just have to see if this actually happens. Its been a long journey for us all but fingers crossed this will be our year. be glad to know one way or the other as our lives are on hold at the moment - not good!

thanks for that, but no CO yet. I hope you're right, its been a long time. We thought things were moving in December, but its ground to a halt again now. Good luck to you too.
