Hey thanks Sue.
Yep, I reckon it's just a QLD thing, like my hubby says. I mean, we've had a couple of neighbours say hi or wave at us as we drive up the street, but then it's like you never see them again.
When we moved into our current rental, I was 3 mths pregnant so couldn't do heavy lifting. Hubby had to manually move all our furniture himself. As he was struggling to get settees etc out the van and into the house by himself, the 3 guys who live across the street just stood outside and watched. I couldn't believe no one offered a hand. He really did his back in, that weekend.
And after dark, the streets are like a ghost town. It's just not what I'm used to, really. I have a friend in VIC who's the most friendliest, chattiest chook I know, so I always imagine everyone there to be the same. lol. Seriously, I can well imagine it's a friendlier, warmer place to live. I'm sure I will post on POI when back home and say I'm happy to be home - then after a few weeks I'll post again to complain about the winter! Haha!
Glad it's not just me who finds it unfriendly here.. thought I was getting paranoid!! Good luck to you on your move back to Wodonga, Sue. :)

Thats what I was like when I had my first baby, I lived in south africa and all I could think about was going back to wales and having my exteded family around me. I got depression and we went back.
It sounds like you are making the right move and for all the right reasons emotionaly and financialy.
Thats what I would be doing if I was you too and at least you are both wanting the same things, sounds like your life should work out well.
I can understand about people not being friendly, I have been in brisbane for 8 months and hubby and I havnt made any friends. I thought if we move to the gold coast and he commuted things may be better, but it sounds like that may not be the case either.
So we are going back to wodonga as people are much more friendly there and you can strike up friendships just by talking to somebody!
I wish you all the best for your future and wish you plenty of luv luck laughter.
Keep in touch and let us know how you go.
