Where are you thinking about werribee? I loved Altona beach, great for the kids flat no waves had a park so you can bribe the kids away from the water close to coles supermarket or fish n chip shops, werribee's beach is ok not much sand still good for a dip though williamstown beach is ok, your 30 minutes away from st kilda and about 45 from geelong.
to be honest the west is just a place to live but you can afford to live (does that make sense?)
